Come celebrate invention, innovation and eco-efficiency on April 15 – 17, 2011 as the streets around Discovery Green Park in Downtown Houston become a test course for tomorrow's vehicles at the Houston Shell Eco-Marathon.
The Shell Eco-Marathon has created this challenge to encourage college and high school teams from around the world to design, build and test their “next generation” ideas on freshly redesigned vehicles for maximum fuel efficiency.
Discovery Green is a 12-acre park in downtown Houston located across from the George R. Brown Convention Center and Hilton Americas Hotel and just blocks away from Minute Maid Park and the Toyota Center.

Holiday travel season is upon us, and with ongoing headlines regarding airport security on everyone’s mind, flight attendants are weighing in on the complexities of their job and what travelers can do to make their flights more enjoyable. Here are some of their top tips:
They Dislike Delays As Much As You Do
Sitting on the tarmac is stressful for both passengers and flight attendants. "We're usually on the plane an hour before the passengers to prepare for the flight, plus we've been at the airport for a few hours before that," says Fanny Delaunay, a former flight attendant for Air France.
Your Help Is Appreciated
According to a former flight attendant with Delta Air Lines, the hardest part of a flight is boarding, because properly stowing baggage can be tricky. If passengers worked together and stopped only thinking about themselves it would make attendants job a lot easier, as well as help the flight get out on time.

Houston is not only home to area residents it also serves as a hub for many who travel regularly for work, for pleasure and those who visit Houston. Despite being a major hub, travel in and out of Houston airports had decreased in 2009, but made a comeback at the end of the year.
At both major Houston airports, George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU), airline passenger counts rose during the end of the year. At IAH passenger totals rose 2% from 3.4 million passengers in December 2008 to 3.5 million in December 2009. International travel was also on the rise, with 715,451 passengers travelling in 2009 compared to 661,462 passengers the year before, a rise of 8.2%.
