Houston to Host 53rd Annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade
The Houston area has long been known as one of America’s great melting pot cities, where people from all over the world come to blend into a rich and vibrant culture.
The City of Houston hosts its 53rd annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 17, beginning at 12 PM downtown, with much of the route parading down Texas Avenue.
This is one of the largest Saint Patrick’s Day parades in the United States, so be sure to arrive early in order claim a good spot along the route, as well as prepare to celebrate with thousands of fellow Houstonians.
There will be more than one hundred floats, marching bands from all around the Houston area, talented dancers, musicians, an array of vintage cars and much more available to observe in the parade.
The Grand Marshall for this year’s parade is Sean Kearns, a Houston resident and lifetime Saint Patrick’s parade supporter and volunteer. This year’s theme is "The St. Patrick’s Parade: A Houston Tradition- Past, Present and into the Future".
This free parade is scheduled to last two hours and will happen rain or shine. An official awards ceremony and after-party will take place at Lucky’s Pub, located at 801 Saint Emanuel.
