Cypress Creek Lakes Announces Retail and Commercial Expansion
Mischer Development, developer of the 1600-acre master-planned Cypress Creek Lakes community, has recently started commercial and retail expansion on several reserves within the 1600 acre development. Cypress Creek Lakes is located in the US 290 corridor south of Cypress Creek on the east side of Fry Road. H-E-B purchased 15 acres on the northeast corner of Tuckerton and Fry Road. This parcel of land is within the 90 acre mixed use reserve that will be known as the Cypress Creek Lakes Town Center.
Tuckerton Road was expanded last year in cooperation with Harris County Precinct 3 and now provides area residents roadway access from Fry Road eastwards to Huffmeister Road offering an alternative route to US-290.
H-E-B has not yet announced a time table for the use of the property. Growth in the Cypress area has caused grocery retailers to open new and refurbish existing stores. H-E-B recently opened two Cypress area stores: one near Jersey Village and the second in Fairfield. These are in addition to H-E-B’s Cypress, Vintage Park, and Tomball locations.
Mischer Development has also commenced construction on a 30,000 square foot retail center at Fry Road and Cypress North Houston. The Center will be known as the Shops at Cypress Creek Lakes and tenants will include a mix of medical, dental, retail, restaurants and other service providers. The Shops at Cypress Creek Lakes will be open late fall of this year.
Retailers in the Shops at Cypress Creek Lakes will join McDonalds, Timewise Convenience Store, and the Goddard School, which all recently opened, in providing convenience to Cypress Creek Lakes families and other area residents. Mischer was the only developer to have two projects selected from the initial seven awards.
