City Hall Farmers Market Returns
While it may still be in the 90s, this week will mark the beginning of fall in downtown Houston with the return of the City Hall Farmers Market.
The weekly gathering of 35-plus vendors is back again for the fall season, offering downtowners fresh produce, cheese, coffee, breads and plenty of prepared foods perfect for a lunch picnic around the City Hall reflection pool. The public can enjoy lunch or pick up groceries weekly and at the same time support local, fresh and sustainable food all amidst Houston's dramatic downtown urban setting.
For this week's fall kickoff on Wednesday, Sept. 12th, Shade and Canopy chef/owner Claire Smith and sous chef Kent Domas will perform a cooking demonstration and share samples. There also will be live music by Chris Crump & Band. The market hours are 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The market will be held every Wednesday through December 19th. For more information, visit greenhoustontx.gov.
