The Mischer Development Management Team

Walter M. Mischer

Walter M. “Walt” Mischer, Jr., Executive Vice President of Mischer Investments, L.P.,  has been involved in real estate development since 1975. He is also President of Mischer Healthcare Services, a developer of healthcare facilities, whose most recent project is Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza,  a partner and Co-Founder of Belmont Village Assisted Living Communities,  and Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder of RediClinic, LLC., (formerly InterFit Health), which operates ‘convenient care’ clinics located in H-E-B stores.

Currently Mr. Mischer serves on the Board of Directors of Encore Bancshares, The Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Trust Company, UTHSC Development Board, Houston Zoo and the Memorial Hermann Foundation. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Hermann Hospital from 1991-1993, Director of The Southland Corporation from 1982–1987, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank from 1983-1988, the Vice Chairman and Director of the Texas Turnpike Authority from 1978–1988, the Board of Directors of the Greater Houston Partnership and Chairman of its Gulf Coast Regional Mobility Partners.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1973 with a Bachelors of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.

Paula Mischer

Paula Mischer, as Executive Vice President of Mischer Investments, L.P., lends her project design expertise to the Mischer Development team. Her dedication to excellence has moved the Mischer companies forward in their diverse investments, projects and philanthropic endeavors. She currently serves on the advisory board of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center Institute of Biosciences and Technology and the Texas A&M Health Science Center Foundation.

Mark A. Kilkenny

Mark A. Kilkenny, Sr. Vice President, has served MISCHER-related entities since 1980. He has more than thirty years of experience in Houston, and throughout Texas, in land development, including acquisition through bidding, design, and the construction and sale of commercial sites and finished lots. He has also dealt with government agencies in every aspect of property development, from environmental issues to drainage and flood control.

He is currently serving his fourth term on the City of Houston Planning Commission as Chairman, is Past Chairman of the West Houston Association, has served as Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership’s flood control committee and is a founding member of Houstonians for Responsible Growth and R-LIDS, Regional Leadership in Development Standards.  He recently joined the board of directors of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce. 

Mr. Kilkenny earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with an emphasis in Urban Planning from the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University. He has served as an advisory board member for White Petrov & McHone, CPA, has served on the Capital Campaign Committee and Campus Advisory Team at Houston Christian High School, a development board member for Child Advocates, Inc., is a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is the founding president of Bayland Park Little League.

Eric M. Schumann

Eric M. Schumann, Senior Vice President, is also Chief Financial Officer of MISCHER-related entities, a position he has held since 1992. Mr. Schumann is responsible for all accounting, finance and administration. Prior to joining MISCHER, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Commonwealth Savings Association, a $2 billion institution. Mr. Schumann was with Arthur Andersen, LLP from 1973 to 1985, where he was responsible for the supervision of various audit clients and financial consultation in the real estate and banking industries. Mr. Schumann is a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs.

David Nussbaum

David Nussbaum, Vice President, has been actively involved in the real estate development process for more than 25 years. His experience includes land acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, financial feasibility studies, project and construction management, marketing and asset management. He has worked on single-family, multi-family, assisted living, office and institutional projects in Houston, Chicago, northern California, southern California and Milwaukee. He has served as President of the Houston Chapter of the American Planning Association and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Klein Education Foundation and the Greater Katy Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Nussbaum obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Roy R. Behrens

Roy R. Behrens, Jr., Vice President, started with MISCHER in 1976. He has development experience with MISCHER in Houston, San Antonio and Austin. Mr. Behrens was awarded the 2008 Developer of the Year award by the Greater Houston Builders Association, he is the current President of Harris County MUD No. 196 (Riata Ranch), is serving on the Houston Community College Steering Committee for the West Houston campus, has been a member of the Association of Water Board Directors Advisory Council since 1985 and was the recipient of the 2010 Vision Award; the Association's highest award.  He is also involved with the Greater Houston Builders Association through the Community Developers Council, and was formerly a board member of Harris County MUD No. 151 and a planner with the City of Houston Planning Department. Mr. Behrens earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston.

Randy Corson

Randy Corson is a Senior Project Manager with MISCHER and has worked for MISCHER since 1993. He managed the operations of Lajitas Resort from 1996 through 2000. In 2000, he moved into the Land Development division of MISCHER and is currently Project Manager of the RiverPark West development. He is active in the Association of Water Board Directors and the Greater Houston Builders Association’s Community Developers Council. Mr. Corson received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Houston.
