Vitomix

Starting from the principles ‘faster and more compact’ and on the basis of the existing Vrieco-Nauta mixers, Hosokawa Micron has developed a new variant of the batch mixer under the name Vitomix.

Faster and more compact
The first striking aspect of the Vitomix is its extremely compact design.
Thanks to a partly cylindrical form (instead of the completely conical shape of the Vrieco-Nauta mixer), the same volume is achieved with a considerably reduced structural height.
A second important distinction of the Vitomix is the double ribbon screw used in the design of this mixer. In combination with the larger diameter of the screws, and therefore also a higher transport capacity per unit of time.

High transport capacity
The double screws, the higher rotational speed and larger diameter results in a transport capacity which is up to eight times higher and a substantial improvement in mixing efficiency. Even at lower linear speeds a much more efficient and therefore faster mixing process is achieved.

Two lump breakers achieve much higher efficiency
The two lump breakers (2 x 7.5 kW) are incorporated into the sidewall of the Vitomix mixer. Thanks to this double feature, more fluid can be injected without lump formation than is the case with a single lump breaker at the top. In addition, the design is adapted, achieving a much higher efficiency.
